What it is
An inorganic mineral compound (Al(OH)3) used in cosmetics mainly as a surface coating for pigments and mineral UV filters and as a bulking/opacifying agent, not as a UV filter itself.
How it works
Forms a thin, inert coating on titanium dioxide or zinc oxide particles that reduces their photocatalytic surface reactivity and improves dispersion, while also contributing opacity, bulk, and mild viscosity control to the formula.
What it does
Viscosity controlling
Opacifying
