Cellulose

Plant Fiber

What it is

Cellulose is a natural polysaccharide polymer from plant cell walls (commonly wood pulp or cotton) used across cosmetics as a texturizing, thickening and opacifying agent. It also appears in scrubs and powders as a natural filler or gentle exfoliant particle.

How it works

Its long insoluble fiber structure raises formula viscosity, scatters light to add opacity, and can form a light surface film or provide mild mechanical exfoliation in particle form.

Viscosity controlling Opacifying Film forming
