What it is
A phenyl-modified silicone polymer used in small amounts to add shine, glide and a smooth, cushioned after-feel to skin and hair formulas.
How it works
Like other film-forming silicones it coats the skin surface to reduce transepidermal water loss and add slip; its phenyl groups additionally boost light reflection and refractive index, giving a glossier finish than plain dimethicone.
