What it is
Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether is a stabilized, oil-and-water-soluble derivative of vitamin C used in brightening and antioxidant serums. It is favored over pure ascorbic acid because it resists oxidation better while still delivering vitamin C activity to skin.
How it works
The ethyl ether group at the 3-O position protects the reactive enediol structure of ascorbic acid from rapid oxidation; once absorbed it is gradually converted toward active ascorbic acid, providing antioxidant and brightening effects.
