Fig fruit extract has no documented pattern of irritation or phototoxicity in cosmetic use. The furocoumarin (psoralen) phytophotodermatitis associated with Ficus carica is driven by the leaf and sap/latex, not the fruit; fruit extract carries low furocoumarin levels and is used in cosmetics without a notable adverse-reaction signal. EU CosIng lists it without use restrictions.
