What it is
An ethoxylated glycerin ester of isostearic acid and PCA (a natural component of skin's own moisturizing factor), used as an emulsifier in rich cream formulas.
How it works
It lowers the interfacial tension between the water and oil phases so they blend into a stable emulsion, while its PCA portion contributes a small skin-conditioning benefit.
