What it is
The potassium salt of a phosphate ester of cetyl (fatty) alcohol, used as a primary emulsifier in creams and lotions.
How it works
Its negatively charged, highly hydrophilic phosphate head and lipophilic cetyl chain anchor oil droplets tightly within water, producing very stable emulsions even for hard-to-formulate systems.
